Ponty defeated by Cwmtwrch

Last weeks fixture between Pontardawe and Cwmtwrch was reversed after the condition of the field at the recreation ground was deemed unplayable. At 12:30 it was decided that the game would go ahead up in cwmtwrch, with both teams in search of the win as the struggle towards the foot of the table. Cwmtwrch, led by ex Ponty coach Dai Hawkins at fly half took the lead with two quick tries in the first 10 minutes. Both scored in similar fashion. Ponty rallied together by stand in captain and veteran utility forward Darren "Bollock" Rees after being left short handed after injury forced club captain Dai Morris to retire from the field. And despite conceeding two further tries out wide, hit back with a try of their own courtesy of stand in winger Jordan Gooch. Another try went begging for Ponty just before the half when second row Carwyn Jenkins got held up over the line. A decision that was deemed the wrong one by many supporters.  Ponty started the second half with a shuffle in the back line, this was seen as a good option and after some sloppy hands from the Cwmtwrch backline, seen the ball hacked through by scrum half turned centre, Aaron Davies who chased down the kick to score under the posts. Try was converted by fly half Daniel Brindley.  Ponty seemed the team in control in the second half but couldn't turn possession into points and allowed cwmtwrch to add further misery by adding more points to kill the game off
