Ponty Back in Swalec Bowl Action- Team Announcement

Ponty will be back in Swalec Bowl action today as they face Abercrave at the Rec this afternoon (kick off 2:30). The away team were victorious the last time these two met, but that shouldn't be cause for concern. Ponty have already toppled a team in League 3 West Central A, defeating Glais in the previous round, who sit just one place below Abercrave in the respective league.

Ponty have a lot to prove this week after narrowly losing last weeks fixture against Tonna in the last minute, and a few changes will add an extra spark and take Ponty through once again.

Upfront there are a few changes, Sion Jones and Damian Blake start again as props, with young Joe Mort getting his chance at hooker after a few games in the second row. Last weeks second row is unchanged so Carwyn Jenkins and Aled Davies look to buiild on last weeks partnership. Just one change in the back row as Callum Papp comes in at 7, with Jamie Jarrett dropping to the bench and will surely make an impact when he is called upon. Papp joins last weeks man of the match Sean Stevens and captain Nigel Willams in the back row.

In the backs its no change at half backs, birthday boy Zac Beynon starts at 9, and Jack Jarrett looking to control things from 10. In the centres, Dicky Williams wil move from 13 to 12 and will look to bring the experience in a young backline and will replace coach Dai Hawkins who misses out through injury. Dicky will be joined by Nathan Thomas who has had a number of good performances for both 1st and 2nd XV this season, and is rewarded again this week. Another man who has impressed with a consistantly for our 2nd XV this year is Daniel Ford. He gets his first start for the 1st XV on the wing, and will be joined by twinkle toes Callum Jones on the other wing. Mathew Edwards will look to continue his try scoring form from Full-Back.

On the bench, its a full front row, with experienced prop Llyr Hopkin joined by young hoooker Sean Griffiths and new signing Jamie Rowley. Jamie Jarrett and versitile Ashley Parry make up the squad
