Tribute to Brian 'BONES' Williams

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Brian 'BONES' Williams, a true legend of Pontardawe RFC and an unforgettable character. For many years, Brian stood as a pillar of the club—both on and off the field. As a player and club captain, his presence inspired countless teammates, and his leadership was felt by all who had the privilege of playing alongside him.

Brian's love for Pontardawe RFC extended far beyond rugby. He was a talented darts player and, in recent years, became a cherished member of the bowls team, bringing the same spirit and camaraderie to each game. A proud sponsor of several teams, Brian’s generosity and commitment to the club never wavered. His support played an essential role in the growth and success of Pontardawe RFC, and his contributions will never be forgotten.

Brian's sense of humour and sharp wit made him a joy to be around. Whether it was sitting at the bar, watching the cricket, or offering his famous line, “shut that bloody door,” his infectious personality always left a lasting impression. Pontardawe RFC will not be the same without him, but his legacy will live on in the stories, laughter, and fond memories that will be shared for years to come.

Our deepest condolences go out to Kevin, Nigel, and all of Brian's family during this difficult time. He may be gone, but his spirit will forever remain part of the fabric of our club. Rest in peace, Bones. You will be missed but never forgotten.
